In exchange, I would write about him on this blog. I visualized the flame I took from him passing back into him, and I told him that he needed to heal the other three cats. I called him forth as the first summoning, but instead of destroying him, I told him I was giving him a second chance. I did the entire triangle summoning again with the intent to destroy Toup Shaanung (He’s an elemental, but basically a servitor, and servitors are usually destroyed after using them). Whatever I did, it seemed to work, even if it was one of those things you should never actually do (pissing off an elemental). The sickest cat, who had stopped eating, was now begging for food and acting normal again. When I felt like this focus had peaked, I left the circle and put my hand on the sickest cat, imagining this energy flowing into the cat, and then back to me. At my altar, which was already set up, I focused this energy into my hand, hyperventalating as I did so. I called on Toup Shaanung, and when he appeared, I (mentally) shouted “Fuck you, man!” Then, I reached into him, pulled out the fire, and pulled myself out of my meditation. I wasn’t too worried because I had set a sort of 3 day window on this thing, so I waited until day four, and then I got angry.Ī few days later (after I was told by my vet that my one very sick cat was probably dying), I meditated back to the fire plane. I told it that if it healed my cats, I would write about it on this blog. The summoning itself was just me waving my dagger at the south, where I had the above summoning triangle, and chanting “Toup Shaanung, rise!”, as well as invoking the names of several deities that I feel an affinity for. I asked it if it could heal my cats, and it seemed to answer in the affirmative, so I came out of my meditation and summoned him. Another door opened minute later, and from it came a…shimmering? Like when you look at pavement on a hot day? Anyway, that’s what it was. ![]() She replied, “He will be here in a moment.” Then she opened a door and left. ![]() A cat-headed woman walked out, and I asked her “Are you Toup Shaanung?” On the walls, swords were hung (which may be a fire symbol if one believes that Waite made swords represent air and staves represent fire as a blind). I thought this isn’t right, and suddenly, I found my meditative self sitting in a comfortable chair in a giant wooden cabin. The ground was molten, and flames shot up everywhere, and to be honest, it didn’t feel very inviting. In my meditation, I pictured myself floating in a plane of flames. ![]() I meditated, thinking about the properties of fire, specifically how fire could be a cleansing agent. Now, I knew its name and its sigil, but I wanted to contact it though meditation first. ![]() Then, I sigilized the name and drew it into a sigil using a magic square for Saturn (which I determined was the best square for this specific type of healing), adding the alchemical symbol for fire and the symbol for Leo. I wrote out my intention, then divined his name using this sigil generator. Using these associations (as well as the cat god Mau being linked to the south in Crowley’s 777, I knew I’d be dealing with a fire elemental. In fact, one of her names is “Lady of Flame”, which also corresponds to the south. I know that I was doing a healing ritual for my cats, and I know that Ubasti, or Bast, is often associated with the South. To get the name of the entity I was summoning, I first did a little research. The results were not what I had hoped for exactly, but in the end, I think it went well, despite me doing what could be considered a Very Stupid Thing(TM). OK, so as I said about a month (!) ago, I recently summoned a fire elemental to help my ailing cats.
